SHIMA is a Japanese-American singer, producer, DJ, and audio engineer from Tokyo, now based in Los Angeles. Her music blends electronic dance music with Japanese folk traditions, field recordings, traditional instruments, and bilingual vocals, creating a sound that feels both futuristic and deeply connected to her cultural roots. Before pursuing music full-time, she worked as a software engineer specializing in audio technology, which heavily influences her detailed production style.
