Dixon's Violin is the project of David James Hammond, a Michigan musician who performs improvisational, all-live 'one-man symphony' music on a 5-string electric violin run through a self-built looping system. Classically trained and raised in the Flint area, he left a corporate technology career after a transformative 2005 Burning Man trip to pursue music full-time. His sound is built entirely on looped violin lines and improvisation, ranging from meditative ambient passages to soaring, dancefloor-driving crescendos.
